Jamar Hydraulic Hand Dynamometer

Instrument Screening Grip Strength and Trauma

This hand dynamometer is ideal for routine screening of grip strength and hand function. It can be used to evaluate initial and ongoing impacts of hand trauma and dysfunction. The Jamar Hydraulic Hand Dynamometer features a shock-resistant rubber cap in which protects the stainless-steel gauge. It also has a wrist strap attached to prevent accidental damage if dropped.

Used to Measure Isometric Force

The Jamar Hydraulic Hand Dynamometer can be used to measure isometric force and peak strength with five adjustable grip positions. The five different grip positions increase in half-inch measurements between 1.375” to 3.375”. This hand strength test also features dual-scale readout displaying isometric grip force from 0 – 200 lbs.

Helps Track Rehabilitation and Hand Function

Ideal for physical therapy professionals, the hand dynamometer can assist in tracking rehabilitation and hand function over time. To determine maximal effort, test each hand three times in all five grip positions. Test one hand followed by the injured hand and then record the average. Repeating the test after a short rest period helps determine if a patient is exerting maximum effort. The peak-hold needle automatically retains the highest reading until reset.
